Where have all the Flowers Gone?

I’m lucky enough to have Great Dixter as one of my local gardens, so I can pop in regularly to see the seasonal changes and to attend some of the events that take place there. When I recently visited Dixter with a friend, I was rather taken by the characterful stalls that remain in place between plant fairs. Denuded of plants they look like strange creatures grazing in the field. Of course there was much loveliness too, but that is always the case in this wonderful garden.
