The Tourist Bit

We did manage a bit of  sight seeing too.  The exterior of Vlad the Impaler’s Castle at Bran was apparently the inspiration for Dracula, but was a lot less forbidding inside – in fact more Romeo & Juliet than vampires and stakes.  Our other bit of culture – a visit to the fortified medieval town of Brasov was a revelation – a beautiful and cultured place that has survived its many terrible times remarkably well.
