    Before

    and after

Last week The World Vision Garden at #rhschelsea took shape to mesmerising effect. The garden’s central ripple pool is what’s stopping people in their tracks. Filled with black water, the pool ripples from its centre to edge, representing how World Vision’s child focused work ripples out to benefit families, communities and countries. The labyrinth path, towering tree ferns and gentle planting help to create a place of calm and reflection, where people can find a moment of tranquillity amongst the hubbub of Chelsea.
As with all RHS Chelsea garden builds, there have been moments when designers John and Sim have been tested to their limits. Will the path fit – yes. Will the lupin flower – sadly no. Will it ever stop raining – yes! And there’s been the small matter of Sim becoming a dad for the third time (a little girl born on Thursday – Sim back on site by Friday!) It all seems to have been worth it though and now the hard work’s over, the judges have awarded us a Silver medal. We would have loved Gold, but the important thing is that we are spreading the message about World Vision.
