The Larmer Garden

I was in Dorset recently and on the lookout for gardens to visit.  I had seen some photographs of this garden and thought it might be worth looking at. My verdict is that it is worth going to if you are nearby, but not, as the Michelin Guide might say, worth a detour.  More pleasure ground than garden, it  has some extraordinary buildings set amongst mature trees and an interesting history, but it does feel as if it could do with a revamp.  www.larmertreegardens.co.uk
