A fast-moving but shallow stream divides the garden at La Malposte in two, with the garden on the further bank only revealed when you cross a little wooden bridge.  In September, the grasses really come into their own among the fruit trees and perennials and I was particularly smitten by Miscanthus nepalensis with its blonde ponytails.  This is a garden full of ideas for making long narrow gardens more interesting. www.lamalposte.com
