Jardin de Castillon
2nd October 2010 • Places to Visit • Stephanie DonaldsonThis is a garden that changed the way the French approach gardening. Previously the focus had been almost entirely on bedding plants, but for the past 30 years Madame & Monsieur Saint Beuve have been leading the way with their use of hardy plants contained within garden rooms. Curvaceous yew hedges and specimen trees give the garden strong structure and frame wonderful plantings. Almost as remarkable was their entirely amiable, vast and very shaggy Bouvier des Flandres! www.jardinscastillon-plantbessin.com
