    Winter Salads

After an early slug attack, the boxes of winter salads sown last month were moved to an outdoor bench and are thriving. So are the Rootrainer sown broadbeans, that are waiting for the courgettes to fade so they can take their place.  The woodchips gathered (with permission) from the hill opposite when the council felled some diseased elms has sprouted a prodigious crop of fungi – I don’t think they are edible, but they will speed decomposition – of the woodchip – not me!
