Fans of Channel 4s Country House Rescue will recognise the name from the very first of Ruth Watson’s engrossing programmes.  The owners, Alastair and Mary-Anne Robb, had devoted themselves to ensuring that the beautiful manor and its gardens were saved for future generations, but in doing so they had exhausted themselves and their finances.  Ruth’s job was to put the enterprise back on a firm footing by increasing visitors and finding a member of the family to take over.  Younger daughter Charlie has now moved back home, visitor numbers are up. In Spring the current highlights include thousands of white tulips, like an army of white angels marching through the garden.
