A Fabulous Froth

The contrast between the glossy rigid trunks of the multi-stemmed Prunus serrula and the foaming flowers of Anthriscus ‘Ravenswing’ was one of my favourite plant combinations – simple but incredibly effective. Thanks to the warm weather (hooray) the purple martagon lilies growing amongst the anthriscus will start to unfurl and add delicate highlights. This is in Nigel Dunnet’s ‘RBC Blue Water Garden’ which uses modern technology to update water-saving techniques dating back 2600 years. If you would like to know more, I wrote about this garden and its inspiration for the Financial Times and you can read it online here – ‘Stealing Beauty from the Skies’ .
