A Sweet Response

I’d more or less given up on the sweetpeas.  They’ve been so battered by the rain that I thought I was going to have to pull them out, but a couple of days of sunshine and they are responding with a flush of flowers.  The stems are shorter than usual and there is some mildew on the lower growth so I’m not expecting an extended season, but oh the joy of going out and picking this posy of my favourite flower.
