My cucumbers have done me proud this year – so much so that I have been faced with an excess which has allowed me to make some sweet pickle. The reason that the jar in the photograph is not entirely full is that it has proved irresistible.
Lunch everyday this week has been toasted wholemeal walnut sourdough topped with Caerphilly cheese and cucumber pickle and accompanied by a Violetta fig from the garden. Yum!
